The Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2010 is an iconic run, bringing runners through various historical sights such as the Johore Battery, the Changi Chapel Museum, and the old Changi Prison wall. Ending the run at the new Changi Prison Complex where they will see the development of a new generation of prisons designed to cater to the security and rehabilitation needs of the prisoners.
Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2010 will be a fun and memorable run, to encourage the community to play a part to the Yellow Ribbon message and participate in the run to show their support for the ex-offenders. The theme, Beyond the Run, is about giving ex-offenders a second chance to start afresh. It conveys the message that what matters most is not about the fall, but how to pick himself/ herself up after the fall. |
|
|
The Guest-Of-Honour is Mr K Shanmugam, 2nd Minister for Home Affairs. He shall reinforce the commitment of MHA towards second chances for ex-offenders who desire to change for the better. |

Participants can look forward to the following:
- Challenges of the terrain/scenic views such as:
- Loyang Way to Upper Changi Road North - 30 degrees incline run
- Stretch from Abingdon Road to Cosford Road - undulating terrain
- Changi North Rise - 20 degrees incline for about 200m
- Heritage areas/places of interest/attractions such as:
- SAF Selarang Camp
- Johore Battery
- T2 Runway scene
- Changi Museum
- Changi Chapel
- Lloyd Leas Camp

- The undulating and strenuous terrain of the route is representative of an inmate's reintegration journey back to society. It is an ardous task that takes a lot of determination and resolve from the individual. The community too plays an important role! Aptly summarized by the theme "Beyond The Run", this run is all about the community coming forward to show their support for inmates, ex-offenders and their families.
